Optimago

Optimago Ltd., of 43 Perrymead Street London S.W.6., were a prolific manufacturer of wooden jigsaw puzzles, established in 1979, but sadly ceasing trading c2005.
Unlike other modern makers such as Wentworth, their puzzles were not laser-cut, preferring the more labour-intensive, but traditional method of scroll saw cutting.
Most puzzles were cut to a very uniformly interlocking pattern, but sometimes included straight edge pieces in central areas to try and make them a little more challenging.
They also produced some slightly more interesting puzzles to their Fancy Cut standard, which included colour line-cutting and made the puzzle far more interesting, not to mention rather more enjoyable. Pussycat on Broadway is one such example.
The Enigma range which they also produced, featured Whimsies and were easily identifiable by their Gold Boxes, guide images being supplied in sealed envelopes inside.
