Kitchen, The

Very fine quality c1980s plywood jigsaw puzzle from Eric Pedley, cut for the British Jigsaw Puzzle Library. The painting is by the Swedish Arts and Crafts Movement painter Carl Olof Larsson and is entitled The Kitchen.
The cutting style is predominantly semi-interlocking, with colour line-cutting throughout, but as is often the case some sections of push-fit pieces have been incorporated along the way, such as seen in the younger girl's dress. He has also been highly imaginative with the interlocking border design, best demonstrated by examining the upper left edge and corner section. Here we witness so many different techniques of interlock, some with split tabs, others with opposing U-shapes and T-shaped tabs, plus some more triangular shaped pieces and a few circular connections thrown into the mix! There are also 18 figural shaped pieces within the puzzle.
