David Copperfield on His way to School

This thick, solid wood Zag-Zaw features one of the Ludovici paintings from the Dickens Coaching series but, unlike these was manufactured for retail in Germany. It is a push-fit puzzle, without any figural pieces and was probably actually cut in Germany, the cutting style being completely different to that of the English Zag-Zaw's.
Also very worthy of mention is the superb print quality. Unlike the series editions, this is a stunning chromo print enabling you to pick out even the tiniest details.
Dating this puzzle is difficult but I would guess it pre-dates the English set, possibly being as early as pre WWI. c1913, although a very faded inscription on the base could read 1919.
