Evening-The Welcome Inn

Very fine quality solid mahogany-backed puzzle, exquisitely cut by Helen Helmore and Vera Tassell, featuring very accurate colour line-cutting, and their usual initial pieces. As in some other examples of their work, the swastika also appears, this time as a pair of interlocking pieces. I presume these to be of an innocent nature, given the likely origin of this puzzle in the 1920/1930's. Interestingly, a design of interlocking swastikas is part of the design of the floor of the cathedral of Amiens, France.
